Question
I have the above referenced coin.  I understand it to be a German coin.  On one side is says "WILHEM DEUTSCHER KAISER KONG V. PREUSSEN" and with a bust that is facing to the right with an "A" below the bust.  On the back is a crest with the words "DEUTSCHES REICH 1876 FUNF MARK."

Is this worth anything?

Answer
Hi Scott, There were 2 million minted in Berlin (A) that year of these German 5 (funf) Mark coins from the kingdom of Prussia featuring King Wilhelm I (1861-88). This coin should weigh 27.777 grams and would contain .8038 of an ounce of silver. Collector value may be worth about $15 with heavy wear to around $35 with moderate wear to maybe $225 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
