Coin and Paper Money Collecting/british coins

Question
I have a box of British coins, they are rolled and I haven't looked at each one, but they are in rolls of 25. They seem to be all large copper colored pennies; the earliest are dated 1907 and the latest 1966. I am wondering what they might be worth and if there are any special ones I should look for. Looking for a ball park figure as it would be over 100 mile drive to take them to a dealer to be looked at.

Answer
Hi Mary, Collector value of a coin depends on denomination (face value), date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
The following are the penny highlights but only worth anything notable with medium or less wear:
1912, 1918 and 1919 with mintmark letter(s) to left of date, 1926, 1950, 1951.
The older ones would also be of notable value if they have only light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins or Coins of England for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
