Question
i have some coins and paper money one coin if from 1950 5 fr from belgique i was wondering how much is it worth if you trade it in for us money i have Venezuelan paper money there a  5 and 500 if i can remember i was wondering if you might want to buy it.

Answer
Hi Shawn, the 1950 copper-nickel Belgian 5 Franc comes in French (Belgique) and Flemish (Belgie) language versions both of equal value. Collector value may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .20 with moderate wear to maybe $1 with light wear to perhaps $6 if uncirculated (no wear).
The Euro has replaced the Franc. The 5 Francs would have been worth about 18 U.S. cents.
Collector value of a note depends on date, series letter or signature and condition, including amount of wear, any folds, tears or stains as well as collector demand.
What are the dates on the Venezuelan notes? The old 500 Bolivianos note was worth about 23 U.S. cents.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins and Standard Catalog of World Paper Money for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
