Question
my brother has a coin that has writing on the sides, is from 1937, and says 100 neba, it is in fair condition, and it has a old man with a bent nose on the other side.  it has wheats stocks on both sides of the 100 neba (on that side, not the old man side).  I have checked several books, and looked on many websites but cannot find its origins.   if you could help it would be much appreciated.  Thank you , Josh

Answer
Hi Josh, There were 2.2 million of these 50% silver Bulgarian 100 Leva coins minted that year featuring King Boris III (1918-43). This coin should weigh 20.0 grams and would contain .3215 of an ounce of silver. Collector value may be worth about $5 with heavy wear to around $7 with moderate wear to maybe $9 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
