Question
i have a near mint condition 1922 one florin coin and i was wondering what a ball park range of its worth would be with out being ripped off if its worth any thing

Answer
Hi Drew,
A typical near mint condition example with some remaining luster is worth between $30 and $50. It's worth noting that the strength of the strike is important to the value on these coins. Many are not completely struck, and have flat features instead of sharp contrasting hairlines and other features on the portrait. A fully struck coin will have really sharp details and look like a higher profile relief. A weak coin is worth $20 to $30, while a fully struck example can bring $50 to $75. If you would like to post a follow-up question with a clear picture of the portrait side, I can give you more specific information on the value.

Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
