Question
This coin has been in my collection since 1957 and has never been graded. My queston is where should i take the coin to have it appraised. I also have a 1978 penny that looks like the steel pennys i guess it is zinc it came out of a roll of new pennys so i know it hasn't been altered. thanks jesse

Answer
Jesse,

You should go to www.anacs.com to find out how to submit your coin to their grading and certification service.  Once certified and encapsulated, it will be much easier to appraise the value of your coins -- and certify that they are genuine -- and thus be able to readily sell them.

Once you have them certified, you can go to one of the following websites to find a coin show in your area, where you can take the coins to get price offers :

www.coinshows.com
www.coinworld.com

Good luck,

Dan

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
