Question
i have a 1975proof set and a 1976proof set are the lower coins in the sets all 1975 or is the 76 set a 75 set?

Answer
Hello,

In 1975 they did not make a Quarter, Half Dollar, or Dollar.  The Mint was busy making extra 1976 Coin for our Nations Bicentennial Celebration. So, in the 1975 Proof Set is a Type 1 Proof 1976 Dollar, Half, Quarter and 1975 Cent Nickel and Dime.  In the 1976 Proof Set is a Type II Dollar, along with the rest of the coins for 1976.  (see the lettering on the reverse for the Type 1 and Type II difference on the Dollar.

If you have any other coins in your collection please remember to never clean coins, this can damage and lessen their value.  Also, soft plastics can contain harmful chemicals that can react with coins over time.  Your proof set packaging will certainly protect your coins.  Try using inert materials when storing unpackaged coins.  Plus, it is always a good idea to store coins in a safe.  The safe should not be exposed to the elements and should not be up against a wall to the outside.  These are just a few tips I have learned over the years to help keep your collection in top shape.
