Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Linciln Mint JFK Medals

Question
I have a complete set (#3301) of The Lincoln Mint JFK Commemorative Medal - 36 total medals.  They are made of 1 oz Sterling Silver.  I have been researching a price but cannot find anything.

While they are a proof medal, they are not in sealed coin holders and I cannot vouch for a true proof medal.  Also, some are starting to have the "rainbow" effect around the edges.

Can you give me an estimate of worth or a site to go to find out?

Thank you. -- dc

Answer
Doug,

Sorry but there is almost no re-sale market for these items -- other than for the silver they contain.

At approx. $13.50 per ounce ....

36 X .925 (Sterling) X 13.50 = approx. $450 melt value.

You could expect to get $400 to $420 from a dealer.

As the price of silver changes, so will the price of this set.

The rainbow toning has no effect on the price.

I hoe this helps,

Dan

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
