Question
HI, I HAVE COINS WITH EACH PRESIDENT ON THEM WITH THEIR NAMES AND PHOTOS ON THE FRONT EXP: JAMES BUCHANAN ON TOP- PHOTO-1857 15TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES 1861  ON THE BACK THEIR ARE FACTS OF EACH PRESIDENT. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THESE COINS ARE CALLED AND HOW I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THE NEWEST ONES TO COMPLEATE THE COLLECTION? ARE THESE COINS WORTH ANYTHING?

Answer
Jackie,

Sounds like one of many privately minted medal sets -- basically impossible to complete -- worth maybe a dollar per medal, unless they are silver, which are worth whatever melt value they have.

There have been many of these medal sets made over the years, by private companies, which are virtually impossible to re-sell for any significant amount of money, and are no longer supported by whatever company minted them (if that company even still exists).

Sorry,

Dan

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
