Question
i have a 2001 north carolina quarter that has no visible copper in it, just silver when viewed from the side. i didnt know if the silver just hadnt worn off the edge or not. i does seem to weigh less than anothe quarter.

most likely it is silver plated -- the TV coin sellers have sold thousands of these worthless plated quarters. If the mintmark (below IN GOD WE TRUST) is a P or D, I can prettymuch guarantee this is the case.
If it has an S mintmark, then you have a silver proof coin. If it shows NO signs of being in circulation, it's worth about $10 -- otherwise it's worth about $2.50
