The mintmark on a 1964 Kennedy half would be located on the reverse, below the eagle's claw on the left side.  From 1965 to 1967 there were no mintmarks.  From 1968 on, it is located at the base of Kennedy's neck.

Keep in mind that prior to 1980, any halves minted at the main mint in Philadelphia will not have any mintmark -- the "P" mintmark was first added in 1980.
