Answer
Hello Again,

There is no problem ever writing you back, I am always happy to help.

However I cannot answer accurately for this foreign coin. They are not my field.
I am not an expert on foreign coins and I do not have much information on them. I do need more information on the coin for a ball park value.

I am including a picture for consideration; please compare the image to your piece.

This image is a common French 50 centimes silver coin.
But there would be writing on the heads and tails side that helps authenticate where it was used.  Some were used in South East Asia (Viet Nam area) and other parts of the world.
The ones used in France may only sell from $5 to $10 dollars.

With no picture from you I cannot be much help.
The list for all foreign coins can be found in "The Standard Catalog of World Coins" available at the library.

Since the catalog pictures so many different coins the catalog does not over-elaborate on each item. But it does have a world of information in general on all officially issued world coins.

If you do want a dealer to look at the piece for you, feel free to write me back. And give me the nearest large Cities, some postal zip codes. Please mark the question as private.
I will refer you to an expert in your area.

Thank You and Good Luck,

PapaJack
