Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1911 Gold Eagle

Question

$10 gold eagle
I have two $10 1911 gold indian head eagles in near uncirculated condition. I showed them to a coin dealer today and after a cursory exam he declared them fakes. Their weight and dimensions fit with published information. They are definitely not light. They have been in my posession for at least 20 years. Originally they were mounted in an elaborate solid 18K gold money clip that someone spent a lot of money to build.
Is there any easy way to have their autheticity determined by second opinion and would they be worth having graded and slabbed if authenticated?
Photo attached. Does anything leap out saying fake?

Answer
Hi John,

There is nothing I can see from the photos that jumps out at me.

I suggest you send them to Numismatic Guarantee Corp.  www.ngccoin.com

It may cost you $30 per coin, but it's worth it.

Or you can simply find another dealer.  Where are you located, maybe I can suggest one.
