Question
this coin was my father's =he has some things written on it it has EF and Star Rim it is encased and look to be in beautiful condition =i need money very badly for car repairs how much do you think it is worth? thank you sherry

Answer
Hello Sherry,

The on-line price site has the encapsulated and graded coin listing from $785 to $830.

I am sure at private sales for a raw coin in low grade the price would be less.
You might only $500 to $600 for a solid “Extremely Fine” grade-40 condition with no other problems like having been cleaned, scratched or dented.

The prices really do not reflect on dealer prices so to get the most you need to sell it retail to a collector. The auction data I looked up did agree with the higher values.

I hope this information helps, feel free to ask me any question on US Coins.

Good Luck,

PapaJack
