Question

STB_1853 jpeg
I have a 5 troy oz. silver coin from a 4 coin set,  #427/2500 - 150 years of baseball, Norman ROckwell, from the Liberty Mint. It says on the front "The Dugout" Sept. 4 1948, The Saturday Evening Post, Norman Rockwell. I can't find this coin anywhere or any information on it, can you help?

Answer
Michael,

This is a privately minted silver art round.  Technically not a coin, this is why you cannot find any information about it.

Unfortunately the re-sale market for this type of item is almost non-existant.  Selling these for anything more than their silver value is almost impossible.

At the current silver price, this is worth about $65.00

Current silver prices can be found at www.kitco.com

I hope this helps,

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
