Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Special 1970 dime???

Question
I found a 1970 dime from the Philadelphia mint that doesn't have the copper edge.  The edge is similar to the silver dimes of 1964 and prior years, but the obverse and reverse seem a little too shiny for silver.  Were there any special dimes minted that would fit this description in 1970?  Could it be a proof from that mint?

Answer
Patrick,

There have been found some very rare no-S mintmark proof 1970 dimes -- they're worth about $1,000

However, it could also just be silver plated (no value).

You need to get it examined first-hand by an expert -- or submit it to be certified and encapsulated.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
