Question

funny quarter
I have a 1994 quarter that is ok on the head side but the back side is just copper with a little edge on it..inclosed you will find backside pic the head is on the other side and when I place another quarter along side they are the same thickness.

Answer
Hello Denny,

If this is a modified coin, the value is questionable.

I expected to see a broken coin blank in the photo you sent, but this piece looks altered!
Unless there is a shadow from the camera it looks like it was artificially made.

There would be no amount of collect-ability for any altered or plated coin. Most coin collectors are purists and will pay more than face value for the common copper-nickel version with no wear or scratches. I have seen non-numismatists buy them and other people pick them up for the novelty of them.

If you want I can refer you to your nearest coin dealer for evaluation of the piece. It must be seen to be judged a picture would not help.

If you write back with the general location (nearest large cities) and telephone area code or codes and some zip codes in your area, I can direct you to an AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION MEMBER/DEALER near there. They are ethical and trustworthy.

I hope this information is helpful.
