Question
i have a quarter dollar coin. when we hold it between thumb
and pointing finger with head of portrait up and rotate it
as such to get the opposite side the coin it upside
down.the up for one side becomes the down for the counter
part.how much can we get for such a coin.

Answer
When holding the coin at the sides and flipping top-to-bottom, the pictures should remain right-side-up on both sides.

When holding the coin at top and bottom and flipping the coin from side-to-side, the images should alternate from right-side-up to up-side-down.

If your coin does not exhibit the above normal conditions, and does not show any evidence of being tampered with, then you have a rotated reverse error.  On modern coins this is quite rare and can be worth $100 or more, but you would likely need to get the coin certified and encapsulated to attain its full value.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
