About Dan Moore Expertise My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library,
and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just
about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current
price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So,
with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value
any U.S. coin you have.
Experience I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.

Question I HAVE SEVERAL SILVER DOLLARS . I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT COLLECTING. ALL HAVE BEEN CIRCULATED. 1889 HAS "O" BELOW BOW. ALSO 1888,1887,1885 "S" 1882 "S"- 1922 PEACE 1935 PEACECWK26. I ALSO HAVE SEVERAL HALF DOLLARS 1942-1945. WOULD BE INTERESTED IN KNOWING HX AND VALUE THE HALF DOLLARS ARE FAIRLY WORN . I DON'T KNOW WHAT MARKS TO LOOK FOR AND OR WHAT THEY MEAN.
IS THERE A GOOD SITE THAT GIVE PICS AND EXPLAINATIONS??
Answer Barbara,
All the dates for the dollar coins you list are considered common in average circulated condition, and will be worth about $15.00 apiece. The only possible exception may be the 1885-S, but only if it is just barely worn at all -- that may be worth $50.00
Half dollars from 1942 to 1945 were produced in high quantities and are considered common in circulated condition -- value at about $4.50 each.
