Question
I found a liberty american double eagle (american mint)   coin and I am unable to locate any information on it.  It has a mint mark of TR. What is it and was is TR mean? It is also mark .999 silver on the coin. Can you provide any info on this coin and it's worth?

Answer
The US Mint did not produce double egales in 1985, this is probably a copy of the original gold coins minted from 1907-1933.  American Mint was most likely the private company that produced it.  .999 silver is the purity fo the silver 999/1000 pure.
If it weighs 1 TR OZ (Troy Ounce), it would have a value of about $14, the current price of silver.
