Question

Silver Pillar dollar (
I inherited this 1732 Silver Pillar dollar ( piece of eight) in very good condition.  I'm thinking of selling my whole coin collection which I had for over 30 years and I'd like to know the value of this coin please and thank you.

Answer
Sorry Louise, but you have a modern token/medal/fantasy piece.  Real pillar dollars do not have that writing on them.

Your item has a value of no more than a couple dollars.

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
