Expert: PAPAJACK - 5/24/2009

Hi papajack,
I have had some old coins and paper money for a while, don't know if they are of any value or not, unemployed and just wanting to get some extra money.  Please let me know,

1) Bundesrepublik Deutschland Pfennig. The year is 1950 there is a women planting a plant with 5 leaves on it. On the back there is a large 50.
2)A 1988 coin that has a 500 number on the front with a man's face with the word Madero and on the back it says
Estros Unidos Mexicanos, looks like a eagle with a snake in its mouth or dragon
3) A coin with a mans face with a hat on it, it says on the front of the coin has some letters that I cannot understand maybe latin, on the back, 1982, with a 2 inbetween the 4 numbers and 2 guns criss-crossed with more letters and symbols
4) A ten cent coin from Jamacia, has a crest with 2 indian people on it, female and man, banner on bottom that says "Out of many, one people, a alligator is on the top of the crest, the man is holding a arrow and the woman a basket, on the back is a picture of leaves with small flowers
5) 5 cents canadian coin, has a picture of a beaver on the back 1989, on the front a picture of a queen with a crown and the words, "Elizabeth II D.G. Regina
6) 2O cent coin from Hong King, dated 1994
7) Jamacia coin, same symbols as the other one, one dollar, 1991, on the front a male face that says "Sir Alexander Bustamante 1884-1977
8) 1965 American quarter
9) 1941 American nickel
10) 2 American pennies, 1966 and 1950
11) American dollar bill, Series 1057, Silver Certificate
12) American Two dollar bill, series 1976,
13) Paper money number 10 on the front says Diez Colones, from Banco Central De Costa Rica
14) 1000 paper money from Banco Central De Reserva Del Peru, says on back Mil  Sores De Oro with a man's face, on the front is 3 men fishing
15) 10,000 paper money, back has a man's face says  El banco De Mexico and on the front, Dies Mil Pesos a round circle with a warped statue in it
16) A 1960 paper money, number 2 on it, says ER YUAN and front says ZHONGGUO RENMIN YINHANG, with 2 plants on it.

I cannot answer accurately for these foreign coins and notes. They are not my field.
I am not an expert on foreign money and do not have much information on them.

In general, what you describe, they are very common and contain little, if any precious metal. Your library will have them all listed in a series of books titled "The Standard Catalog of World Coins" and there is a single volume for each century.

You may find other experts at this site that can help you more than I can.

Or if you want to locate a coin dealer near you, write me back with your general location (nearest large cities), some telephone area code or codes for your local and some zip codes in your area, I can direct you to an AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION MEMBER/DEALER near there. They are ethical and trustworthy. They will look at the coin for free.

The USA items;
1965 American quarter,  1941 American nickel,   2 American pennies, 1966 and 1950 all sell for less than a dollar.  

Series 1957, Silver Certificate and the American Two dollar bill, series 1976, are considered common and sell for less than $5 in circulated grades.
