Coin and Paper Money Collecting/double tailed nickel

Question
i read your response, and mine does not have a seam on it.  both reverses are D mint and well worn, not in good shape.  How could I "get lucky" and get this authenticated as real or fake?

Answer
Based on all I know, it is almost impossible for a piece like this to have been struck at the mint, but not completely impossible.  You could send it to one of the major grading services (PCGS, NGC etc.) or show it to an error expert.  On occasion, the mint itself has examined pieces, but only after experts have viewed it first, Jim Lawniczak
