Coin and Paper Money Collecting/nickel made from slag, I think.

Question
I got a nickel that on the head side look pretty normal except a few pin holes but on the tail side you can really not make out the buffalo. The coin looks like it was made from a bad spot on the plate as it was cut into a blank. the coin is thiner than normal so there is a slight imprent on the back is all.. I can send pic if needed..

Answer
The pin holes may indcate where there was corrosion.  If the coin sat in acid, that would explain the back.
I am not an error expert, you should try someone who is such as Ken Potter.  You can find him if you google him.
