About Dan Moore
Expertise
My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience
I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.

Organizations I belong to :
American Numismatic Association Member #187770
Michigan State Numismatic Society Member #8255
Florida United Numismatics Member #19710
Monroe Coin Club Treasurer
Lincoln Coin Club Board Member

Coin Collecting - 100 Silver Ingot Collection - America's Greatest Events

Expert: Dan Moore - 6/22/2009

Question
I have a set of 100 1oz. ingots from the Hamilton Mint.  The set called "America's Greatest Events" and it is in 2 rotating display boxes (see picture - only one shown)
I have all the original pamphlets describing the groups of ingots and i have the original Certificates of authenticity (also shown in the picture). As a set I would assume they are worth more then the current price of silver. I have been unable to find any pricing on Minted sets like these online.  How much are they worth?

Answer
Sorry Dave, but even with all the fancy packaging and paperwork, these privately minted silver ingots will only be worth the silver they contain.  Privately minted stuff like this has almost no resale market, other than for the metal they contain.

You can go to www.kitco.com to see the current prices of silver (and gold) to calculate the current value of your ingots.

Dan
