Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1922 cent

Question
I found a 1922 penny with no mint mark when I was tearing down a house in the 60's.  I have kept it in a safety deposit box with other coins.  Shortly after I found it I took it to a dealer in Pasadena, Tx and he said he felt it was the real thing and he offerred me $35 for it.  My question is where can I get it graded and certified?  I have always been afraid to ship it or leave it someplace for fear of someone stealing it.  Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Richard,

Go to www.NGCcoin.com

You can send them the coin with you check to cover the fees and they will authenticate, grade and encapsulate it.

You would be sending by US Mail, REGISTERED with a value of $2500
(that should be sufficient).  This way, if it gets lost along the way, you will be covered by the insurance.

NGC is one of the premier services and come with my highest recommendation.
