Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1982-1984 olympic gold token?

Question
I have recently found a gold commemorative gold token. It does not have a value on it,  so not a monetary coin. It has the Coliseum on one side and the Los Angeles city seal on the other. Could you give me a value range for the coin?
Thank you for your time,
Michele

Answer
Hi Michele,
I have never handled one of those.  First off, you would need to determine if it is infact gold or simply gold plated.  Second, what the purity of the gold is, if it is really gold.  I remember bronze and brass tokens, but none were gold.
Once you know that, it would be easy to determine a value based upon the weight, purity and current gold price.
