Question
QUESTION: Which variation of 2002 Louisiana quarter would have all the characteristics of a silver quarter but a P mintmark instead of S ?

ANSWER: Hi Mike,
The silver issues would only have S mintmarks as they were only made in proof.
There should be no silver P mintmark coins.

QUESTION: Thats what I read in the coinbook but yet I have a quarter that has a P mintmark, has no difference in color and when dropped and compared to an actual silver quarter makes an identical sound.

Answer
Hi Mike,
If you have an accurate gram scale, weigh the coin.  Copper-Nickel coins weigh 5.67 grams.  The silver issues are the same composition and weight as pre-1965 coins; meaning they weigh 6.25 grams.

Is it possible that a silver planchet somehow made it's way to the Philadelphia Mint and was inadvertantly struck?  Sure, anything is possible.  If the weight indicates that it is silver, send it to NGC for certification.  www.NGCCoin.com

Good Luck and let me know what happens.
