Question
I have a susan B. Anthony Dollar collection with 3 uncirculated 1979 susan B. Anthony Dollars in a clear plastic case. I know there are a few types of them minted that year, but don't know how to find out which ones I have. I would like to know how much my coins a worth.

Answer

1979 SBA Dollar Near D
Dylan,

The only variety for those coins would be on the P-mint coin.  There is a near date variety (AKA wide rim) that would be worth about $10 in uncirculated condition.

See the attached picture for examples of the near date (on the left) and normal (on the right) types.

I hope this helps,

Dan

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
