Question
I have a misprinted state quarter in 100% great condition.
Normal quarters weigh 6 grams this one weighs 5 grams.  The front is normal but the back is missing the last layer of metal.  It has been stamped on the copper layer.  Do you know what it could be worth? thankyou in advance for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hello Rosie,

I am not an expert on error coins, but here is what I have experienced.
Blank coins are a very common mishap at the mint.  They sell for only a few dollars each.   However the struck coin with the Nickel cladding missing on one side is more unusual. And since you say it has a good image stamped into both sides. It would sell for more but less than say $50 and usually from $5 to $15 each.

If you need to locate a coin shop in your area write me back, give me the nearest large Cities, some postal zip codes and telephone area codes. I will refer you to an expert in your area.

Good Luck
