How can you tell the difference between a 1975 Dime no S? Philadelphia did a lot of No S dimes that year? Im asking how can you tell if its a 1975 no S dime From San Fran Miss print of a Philly dime?
Len,
The coin has to be a proof strike -- mirrored fields and sharper details than a regular business strike.
The only proofs made in 1975 were made at the San Francisco Mint. All coins made at the Philadelphia Mint that year were business strike coins.
So compare a 1975-S dime from a proof set with your potential no-S dimes, to see if they have the same mirrored finish. If so, then you probably have one.
