Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1995 copper quarter

Question
Hello Mr. Hylas,
I recently came across a 1995 quarter that looks like copper to me.  It looks work although it is shiny front, back, and around the side.  On the right side of the portrait is only a capital D.
I have never seen a quarter like this before and was just wondering if it is of any value.
Thank you very much for all your help and time.
Sincerely, Candy

Answer
Hi Candy,
It sounds to me like the layers (copper core and nickel layers) have delaminated.  A sure sign would be if the details are a little mushy.
Delam errors are not rare but also not common.  I have seen them trade for between $5 and $10 on eBay.
I hope this helped you
Regards
Joe Hylas
