Question
I have a silver dollar, dated 1891, condition, it's been circulated. I also have a 2 dollar bill, date 1953, red seal,in good but not perfect condition. I have a few one dollar bills with blue seals, dated 1957, and one date 1935
and one dated 1957 B, what does the letter stand for. For the most part my bills, condition they have the look of being circulated. What yrs. would 2 dollar bills have the most value, and worth holding on to.
Thank You for your help.
Lorraine

Answer
Hi Lorraine,

All 1928 $2 Bills are worth holding on to, plus any large size notes dated before 1928.  Your other notes are worth face to double face depending on condition.

The letter change on notes, series A, series B, etc.. represent minor design changes like the changing of the Treasurer (signature).

Your 1891 Silver Dollar is most likely worth approx $15.00.  If it was minted in Carson City (Mint Mark CC), then it will be worth much more).  Look just above the DO in Dollar on the reverse.  If you see a "CC" then it is a great coin (most likely it is not).

I hope this helps answer your questions.

Please remember to never clean coins, this can damage and lessen their value.  Also, soft plastics can contain harmful chemicals that can react with coins over time.  Try using inert materials when storing coins.  Plus, it is always a good idea to store coins in a safe.  The safe should not be exposed to the elements and should not be up against a wall to the outside.  These are just a few tips I have learned over the years to help keep your collection in top shape.
