Question
I have one dutch 2 1/2 G coin from 1852 and 1 from 1871 can you tell me anything about their value
thanks

Answer
Hello again Jed,
You've got a couple early Dutch coins which are quite popular on the present market. The value for these crown sized coins depends on condition and since there is no photo, I will give you a value range. The 1871 date runs from about $12 in well circulated condition to $150+ for a mint condition coin. The 1852 typically sells in the $15 to $250+ range for the same grades.
Being that these are popular coins, really nice examples command a premium over the quoted values.
Thanks again for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.

Collector of world coins since early childhood. Access to a variety of auction records and reference material. You can also find me on Facebook.
