about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current
price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So,
with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value
any U.S. coin you have.

Question I have an 1898-O BU Morgan that has a slanted "O" mint mark. The top is tilted about 15 degrees to the right. I have been told it's a fake, but I can't imagine anyone taking the time to do that on an 1898-O. Please advise. Thank you.
Answer Frank,
There are two known varieties of the 1898-O dollar, with the O mintmark tilted to the right.
The VAM-5 has the O centered vertically, while the VAM-10 has the O set high.
Rarity and collector interest in this variety do not earn it any significant value over a regular 1898-O.
Feel free to blow a raspberry at whomever told you it was a fake!
