Question
Hi I have a 1902 1oz silver one dollar and a was trying to  find it on the net but it has a different year and i was wandered if is not fake. I hope you can help me.
thank you.

Answer
Hi Aida,
You most likely have a privately minted 1 ounce silver bullion round. These were done in many styles, including Morgan and other silver dollars. It should be stamped with a purity mark, .999 is typical. As such the value is that of the silver, which currently trades at $14-$15 per ounce. Unlike a fake coin, these are actual silver and are not attempting to fool collectors. If you ask a follow-up question and post a picture, I can confirm this info.
Thanks for the question and best of luck with your coin. =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
