Question Hi The coin, it is the color silver dont actually know if its sliver. on the front there is a picture of jimmy carter with his name and a little jh markings right next to his head. on th back it says 39th PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, inaugurated january 20. 1977. around the side or brim it has .999 f.s. on the box i got it in it says THE 1977 INAUGURAL COMMITTEE. i would like to know the value and if its silver thankyou, Luke
Answer Luke,
The .999 fs marking implies that it is 99.9% pure silver.
So to find its value, get it weighed in grams, divide that by 31.1 to get Troy ounces, then multiply that by the current spot price of silver -- available at www.kitco.com -- and this will give you an approximate value for your medal.
