Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Dollar Bills

Question
I have 34 series B 1963 one dollar bills my mother has saved that have Joseph W. Brown as the signature. My mom was a dedicated collector, so this must mean something. What makes them special and what is their value?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hi Anita,

Are you referring to Joseph Barr?  If so, these became known as Barr Notes.  I believe he held the office for the shortest time period ever and people thought they would be collectable.  Unless the notes are in Mint condition, they have little premium over face value.
If they are anot the Barr Notes, pleaseget back to me as I will have to research whatever they are.
