Question
Subject: 1762 rouble silver coin can you provide me with some background information on this coin including value.

Answer
Hello Eva,

I am not an expert on foreign coins and do not have much information on them.

You might also try a library for a copy of the “Standard Catalog of World Coins” for pictures of your coin, values, how many were made and what metals were used. Each volume covers 100 years of world coins and has more information than I can supply here.

I am able to help you find a trusted coin shop in your area. The wealth of information to be had while bringing in a coin or two is far superior to describing a coin on-line to someone who cannot see it.

Photographs would not really help with this. If you write back with some of the nearest large cities and some zip codes in your area, I can direct you to an AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION MEMBER/DEALER near there. They are ethical and trustworthy.

Or there is help at most large coin shows. If you need to find a show or a coin authenticator in your area just write me again.

Sorry I myself cannot be much help but I know there are other experts in this category at this site who can answer you if you still want an on-line opinion.

Look over the specialties and profiles of the coin people listed.

Thank You and Good Luck
