I also have a 1998 gold quarter but from what I have read, if the quarter is gold "plated" than it will have no sharp details and this quarter has exsact detail for detail as a normal 1998 quarter, everything about it is exsact except the color, also when I look at the edge of the quarter  I don't see any silver, this quarter has lots of Knicks/scratches, and there's no proof that there is any other metal or anything underneath of it. Is it possible I have a reap gold quarter, how can .I tell, is there even such thing, and if so.. how much is something like this worth?! Thanks so much -Nikki

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
