Question
QUESTION: i have a 1912 5 franc note does it have any value
thanks

ANSWER: Hi Jed,
By any chance do you have a picture of this note? I believe you may have a note from one of the French colonies, rather than France itself. If this is the case and it's in relatively good shape, you wouldt have a pretty valuable note.
I should also mention that I'm mostly an expert in coins. My knowledge of paper money is limited, though I've had experience in dealing with French colonial notes.
If you can take a clear picture, just ask a follow-up question and attach it.
In general evaluating notes is very difficult without a visual.
Thanks for the question! =)

QUESTION: Here is a pic of the front i will send the pic of the back next
thanks

Answer
Jed,
Now I understand why I was initially confused... since there is no French 5 franc note from 1912, but there are French colonial notes.
This is a 50 franc note. Fairly used and folded this note would bring in the $25 to $40 range, depending on the condition of the other side.
Thanks again for the questions! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.

Experience

Collector of world coins since early childhood. Access to a variety of auction records and reference material. You can also find me on Facebook.
