Coin and Paper Money Collecting/george washington coin

Question
My aunt found this coin in my grandfather's things when he passed this last fall, and we were just wondering what it is and if it has any value?  On both sides it had George Washington's profile facing the right and 1789 1st president USA 1797 and his full name across the bottom.  Any information that you might have would be helpful.  thank you

Answer
Hi Mary,
It is probably some sort of commemorative medal.  Since you didn't mention a denomination (legal tender coins need a denomination), it must be a medal.  There were many conpanies that issues such sets including oil companies.  You would get a coin/token at each fillup.
As far as I know, there is no value to it.
