When did the USA first make a coin that had the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on it?
Hello Irv,
The 1864 2 cent copper coin was the first to have the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on it. There were other sayings being considered but the US Mints phrasing won over the others.
