Question
I have a 1793 mint mark BB louis xvi coin.  Its made of copper. And hass louis xvi's bust pointing to the lft.  The back has a roman fasces with olive leaaf branches around it.  Do you have any idea what this coin is worth?

Answer
Hi Chris,
There are two denominations which exist for this date and mint mark. There is a 12 deniers, which is about the size of a silver dollar and a 6 deniers that is half-dollar size.
The 12 deniers in average circulated condition starts at $5-$10, but goes up into the high $100's for one with excellent details.
The 6 deniers is more scarce, and ranges from $20 to around $300 for the same conditions.
I can give you more specific info on value if you post a follow-up question with a picture.
Thanks for the question and best of luck with your coin! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
