Coin and Paper Money Collecting/preserve a coin

Question
What is the way you preserve a coin and keep it from contamination?

Answer
Hello Greg,

The newest way is encapsulation in inert plastic. Third party grading companies like PCGS, NGC and ANACS. They grade and authenticate the coin then preserve it as is in a holder.

This makes then easy to trade/sell at a later date. But this can be expensive and is usually only done for valuable coins. It is a good idea if they are worth more than thirty dollars or if they are rare.

I hope this information Helps!

Feel free to ask me any question on US Coins.

Good Luck,
