Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Double Stamped half dollar

Question
My neighbor just came over with a perfectly double stamped half dollar. The local drug store gave it to him with change from a recent purchase. He wanted me to research the value. There is no date as it is the back (eagle) side that has been stamped twice.,
What do you estimate the value?

Answer
Hi Mitch,
If you are referring to a half dollar that has no "heads", only "tails", it is a magician's coin.  They sell these in magic shops and novelty stores for about $7.

The reason I know this is because when a coin is struck, both obverse and reverse are struck simultaneously.  It isn't as if they strike one side and then flip the coin over.  If that were the case, a 2 headed or 2 tails coin would be possible.

Have fun with it, you are guaranteed to always win the flip of the coin!
