my dad has a American prospector on the front it has USA on the left one the right it has 1984 on the back  it has Engelhard and one troy ounce 999 fine silver it also has an eagle holding a branch and a sail can you please tell me more

What you have is a 1 oz. pure silver Prospector medallion produced by the englehard refinery.

These are known in the industry as silver rounds.

Their value is based solely on the price of silver.  That said, your Prospector is worth about $15
