Coin and Paper Money Collecting/wheatback pennies

Question
Are any of the wheat back pennies produced after 1940 rare?

Answer
Hello Chris,

There was nothing low mintage or rare for these years. If the coins are circulated they are sold in bulk for about .03 cents each. However if you have them in Mint State Grade (from 64 to 69 on the coin grading scale) they will sell for much more.
Also there were off metal strikes, double dies and misplaced mint marks that sell for more but they have to be seen to be evaluated.

Try to borrow a copy of the RED BOOK titled - A GUIDE BOOK of UNITED STATES COINS - by R. S. Yeoman. It is all you need for these Lincoln Cents.
