Question
Hi, I have a Belgium coin I found out is from 1922.  It is a 25 centime in fair condition.  I was wondering what it was worth? Thanks

Answer
Hi Ellen,
Your coin lists for $6 in mint condition, but they are quite common and difficult to sell for that price. Most of the time I see these coins they are sold in bulk lots of mixed dates, going for around $1 per coin. Although they are old, there is not much collector demand just yet. Probably because they are copper-nickel coins, while many collectors prefer silver or copper coins from this period.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
