Question
Hi Jim,
As I read your answer to another gentleman, you mentioned something in regards to the 1926S penny at the end.  Is it possible for the mint on that penny to get rubbed off?  Also how much is the 1926 with no mint worth?  As I read the chart but do not understand.  Thank you in advance for your time Sir.

Thank you again,

Freddie

Answer
Freddie, the 1926 cent without mint mark is one of the more common dates and really has no extra value unless it is in uncirculated condition (looking like it die when it was made).  You cannot do anything to make a circulated piece uncirculated, so please don't try.  If you go to www.ebay.com and do a search for 1926 cent or 1926 penny you should see several for sale and can compare the pictures and prices with your piece.  Some of the Denver and SF mint cents from the mid 20s are weakly struck, so it is possible that the "S" can be very weak on some of the pieces, Jim Lawniczak
